Hi everyone, I’ve been trying really hard recently to keep my skin smooth and hydrated through the winter but have been finding it really tough as I’ve been using doctor prescribed benzoyl peroxide to help my acne. When I wake up on a morning my skin is dry, sore and very red, could anyone recommend any affordable solutions for this problem please? :)

I also did the BP route as a teenager and hated it! I ended up visiting a beautician who put me on to Dermalogica's Clear Start range and a course of microdermabrasion which cleared up the majority. The range is aimed at teenage skin and comes in at a lot lower priced than the main range. To get rid of the rest, the GP put me on Dianette, although I've had friends go on Yasmine as the mood swings aren't as bad 🙈. I'm still on Dianette 10 years on, but switched to Dermalogica's main range to help with anti-ageing x

I really recommend using the cerave or cetaphil lotions, maybe also try going back to your doctor they may be able to prescribe something to help xxx

So I did (another) thing...I ordered this from Notino for £31 (30ml) 🙈 the price was too good to pass up! This perfume has been on my list since it was released over a year ago, but its always either out of stock or full price! The cherry, almond, rose & wood notes makes this perfume perfect winter. Its a full bodied all or nothing perfume! (On another note, are Notino legit? First time ordering from them and seen some terrible reviews!)

@Remy @HappyDays I haven't opened it yet as was worried about how legit it will be lolz! Delayed reaction I know! I tested it last year in store, but didn't buy as was full price. Hopefully it'll be as I remembered!

We're being really spoilt in beauty and skincare news today! There's a great article from Sheerluxe outlining their A-Z on 2023 beauty trends including quite a few things we've already discussed on the community: skin cycling, peptides, retinol vs retinoid. @Emma Yes I saw that too! I'm currently using their 1% retinol with skin barrier cream which my skin seems to really like, but also interested to see thoughts on the new one! What's everyone's thoughts on the MAC skincare that has dropped today? It's not for sale on Sephora UK and they currently only have one MAC item for sale on the UK website, but the whole MAC range is available on Sephora USA, so I wonder if this will spur them on to stock in the UK? I had felt MAC was getting a little tired and needed something new for a while so maybe this is it! x Photo via MAC mailing list

@HappyDays I haven't used the foundation as I've always thought it looked a bit heavy, like stage makeup, but I've been through a lot of the lipsticks, primers, nail varnishes etc over the years! x

@Jacqueline. Ainscough Murad has some fab products. I love the Vit C and Retinol eye creams. They work really well to reduce the appearance of fine lines and brightening up the eye, under eye and eye lid area.
