I've been slowly working my way through my Sephora Community prize and tried out the Gisou Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner and the Virtue Healing Oil. Both are brands I haven't tried before so I was really excited to give them a go.
My hair is long, thick, bleached, often frizzy and long overdue a cut! I rarely leave my hair to air dry because, if I washed my hair at 8am, it'd still be wet by the time I go to bed, but last night I left it a good couple of hours before blow drying out of laziness. It looked AWFUL: frizzy, dry, messy, wavy, like I'd spent a day at a really humid, rainy beach... so I thought let's try some of these new hair products and see if I can salvage it!
I usually use the Moroccanoil leave in conditioner which I first tried through the Sephora Test and Review and have been a repeat purchaser of. I love it, it's really hydrating and has usually meant I don't need to go so heavy on the oil. However, the Gisou leave in conditioner is SO different - it feels really thin and I was convinced it would have no effect at all on my hair. I was so wrong! I combined it with my Kerastase heat protection cream but as soon as I began drying my hair, it turned from a frizzy, damaged mess, to smooth, soft and untangled. It also smells fantastic! I don't think I've ever had a product that has made such a difference to my hair.
I then used a couple of drops of the Virtue oil, which, again, is really thin and I didn't think would have any effect. Just a small amount through the ends was amazing, again, super soft and immediately cleared up the final bits of frizz I get underneath. It also smells incredible, like freshly baked coconut cookies! Today I used a couple more drops to refresh my hair and it looks amazing - it's like my split ends have been glued back together, there's hardly any visible damage any more!
I really can't give enough praise to both of these products - I'm usually a big fan of Olaplex, Philip Kingsley, Moroccanoil etc, but these two have completely changed the condition of my hair! It's about 7 months since my last cut, so really in need of a trim, but these made me feel like I've just stepped out of a celebrity salon!
